Primary objective
Maintain the facilities of the school including buildings, grounds, security, vehicles and hydrotherapy pool to provide a functional, safe and secure learning environment in accordance with Department of Education and school policies and Work Health and Safety regulations.
Context statement
Acacia Hill School, located in Alice Springs, is the only special school in Central Australia, and has an enrolment of approximately 120 students ranging from Preschool to Year 12. Over 80% of students need support with communication. The school’s highly specialised learning and wellbeing programs cater developmentally for students with intellectual disability or multiple complex disabilities using the Early Years Learning Framework, the pre-foundation Victorian Curriculum and the Australian Curriculum.
