Primary objective

To provide quality and evidence-based policy development, analysis and advice that strengthens Quality Education and Care NT’s role as the NT regulatory authority and strategically links policy, planning and service delivery across the early childhood education and care sector.

Context statement

The Early Childhood branch provides strategic leadership to deliver high quality, integrated early childhood services and programs, and reforms that maximise outcomes for children and young people across the Northern Territory. The branch, which includes the NT regulatory authority Quality Education and Care NT, leads key policy initiatives, programs and regulatory functions, provides expert advice to the Minister and senior executives, and works collaboratively with stakeholders across the early childhood education and care sector.
