Role description

About the role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and confident Senior Science Teacher, with a strong background and experience in Stage 2 Chemistry, to join our team for a full-time contract position commencing Term 3 through to the end of Term 4, with the possibility of extension.

The key responsibilities are to:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and rigorous Science lessons, including a Stage 2 Chemistry teaching allocation
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with SACE requirements
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Contribute to curriculum development and collaborative planning within the Science team
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing

About you:

As the successful candidate, you will hold:

  • A current South Australian Teacher Registration. 
  • Proven experience teaching Stage 2 Chemistry, with the capability and confidence to take full responsibility for a Stage 2 Chemistry class (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of the SACE curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate senior students
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • The ability to build strong, respectful relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Current WWCC, RRHAN-EC Fundamentals & Masterclass certification, and First Aid in an education setting.
