Hay War Memorial High School (HWMHS) is a comprehensive co-educational school located in the town of Hay in the Riverina region of south-west NSW. The school sits on the land of the Wiradjuri and Nari Nari peoples and has an enrolment of 138 students, which includes 15% of First Nations background. Established in 1923 as a co-educational comprehensive high school and War Memorial, the school has a unique background, a rich history and traditions and close community ties. With its modern facilities and co-location with a TAFE connected learning centre and Countries University Centre, the school is well equipped for future learning.
The school boasts small class sizes, a multicategorical class (MC) and a strong focus on differentiated teaching practices. HWMHS provides enhanced curriculum through the compressed curriculum model for years 11 and 12 alongside Aurora college and Distance Education provisions.
