About Work Health Safety and Wellbeing

Role description


This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP.

The Safety and Staff Wellbeing Branch is responsible for leading and coordinating the Department’s work health and safety (WHS) and psychosocial safety and wellbeing (PSW) functions across the organisation. The branch ensures compliance with relevant legislative frameworks while promoting safe, healthy and supportive working environments for all employees.

The branch provides strategic and operational advice, guidance and support to senior leaders, school leaders and line managers on WHS and staff wellbeing matters. It develops policies, initiatives and programs aimed at preventing workplace injury, managing risk, and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of employees across the Department.

In this senior role, you’ll work at both a strategic and practical level to strengthen workforce capability, support leaders and build a positive, resilient culture.
