Role description
About the role
The Learning Diversity Mentor Teacher works within the multidisciplinary Learning Diversity and Wellbeing Teams. These teams have the responsibility of supporting teachers to cater for the diverse learning needs of the children in our care.
The work of the Learning Diversity and Wellbeing Teams is primarily (but not exclusively) focused on supporting teaching practices required to ensure that students with disability can fully participate in their schooling.
Key reponsibilities of the Learning Diversity Mentor Teachers at Good Samaritan include:
- Supporting children's’ learning and wellbeing
- Supporting children's’ development of positive behaviours for learning and wellbeing
- Supporting excellence in teaching and learning
- Assessing, providing feedback and reporting on children's achievement and progress
- Engaging professionally with colleagues, parents/carers, and the community
This position requires that you have:
- Proven ability to promote a positive and inclusive school culture grounded in Catholic values
- Proven ability to develop and lead collaborative and productive working relationships that align with the school’s charism and values
- Proven ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning for EAL/D learners
- Proven ability to plan for and support children’s positive behaviours for learning and wellbeing
- Proven ability to plan for and support the learning and wellbeing of children with diverse needs
