Role description
The Department of Education is establishing an appointment pool of eligible candidates to be placed in teaching vacancies as part of the 2026 Edith Cowan University (ECU) High Achieving Teachers (HAT@ECU) Program.
You are only eligible for this appointment pool if you have received and accepted an email ‘Offer of Placement’ to participate in the HAT@ECU Program 2026 from Edith Cowan University.
The HAT@ECU Program is an employment-based pathway into teaching which allows participants to complete a Master of Teaching (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary) while placed in a Western Australian public school for 2 years, for observation, professional experience and part-time (paid) teaching. To be eligible for inclusion in the 2026 HAT@ECU Program you must have already completed at least a Bachelor’s degree (or be on track to successfully do so by December 2025) in a discipline other than teaching and meet any other ECU requirements for enrolment in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary) as part of the HAT@ECU Program. This pool will be used to fill 18 month fixed-term, part-time vacancies commencing in Term 3, 2026, at Western Australian public schools eligible to participate in the 2026 HAT@ECU Program.
