About the Role
The Minor Capital Works Specialist is responsible for the planning, prioritising and supervising the maintenance and minor building and alterations projects of 40 schools within the Sydney Catholic Schools' (SCS) property portfolio, including residential, educational and office properties.
The Minor Capital Works Specialist is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:
- maintaining relationships with Principals and school staff
- managing contractors in the delivery of service
- leading, participating in, and coordinating with other stakeholders to deliver SCS building/maintenance works programs
- prioritising, directing and supervising works on behalf of the schools
- specifying the project scope to maintain all SCS buildings within compliance with safety standards and budgeted costs
- preparing the necessary proposals in accordance with SCS standards for project approvals
- developing specifications for the projects, including cost estimates, explanation of desired use, scope of works and risk assessments
- selecting contractors and suppliers who demonstrate high-quality standards, risk management, child protection, relevant experience and licensing and meet SCS standards of contractor management
