Role description
Mountains Christian College is a K -12 school that is situated on 16 hectares overlooking the beautiful Kanimbla Valley in Blackheath and caters for approximately 200 students. Our vision is ‘developing character, compassion, purpose and learning through Christ’.
The role:
● Part-time, 2 days per week (Wednesday is a required working day; the second day is by negotiation).
● Commencing April 2026.
Working closely with the Business Manager, you will be responsible for:
● Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on time.
● Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining student fee records.
● Entering and maintaining financial data in Xero accounting software.
● Processing payroll.
● Preparing and processing supplier payments.
● Assisting with financial reporting and end-of-year processes.
● Preparing Activity Statements and other compliance reporting.
● Responding professionally to financial enquiries from staff and parents.
The successful applicant will:
● Hold a relevant qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or be actively working towards this qualification).
● Demonstrate proficiency in Xero, or have a strong willingness to develop this skill.
● Bring high attention to detail and strong organisational and time management skills.
● Communicate clearly and professional with staff, parents and suppliers.
● Handle sensitive financial and personal information with discretion and integrity.
● Hold a current Working with Children Check.
● Be an active and passionate Christian, who accepts and lives out the College’s Statement of Beliefs.
