Primary objective

As a key member of the school leadership and management team, develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate learning programs that address the needs of Special Education students, provide wellbeing and support to staff and students in the preschool and primary years, and contribute to the achievement of the school’s goals.

Context statementKarama School is located in the heart of the Northern Suburbs of Darwin. Enrolment averages around 200 students. The community is diverse, welcoming students from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds. At Karama School, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students comprise 66% of enrolments, and 81% identify as EAL/D. We have nine classes, as well as a Preschool group, an Early Learning TATA Centre, a Learning Enhancement Unit, and a Nemarluk Satellite class.
