Middle Years Classroom / Math Teacher (Years 6-9)

This is a replacement position at the Middle School of St Joseph’s School. The full-time equivalent (FTE) will be determined in discussion with the successful applicant, preferably 0.7 FTE in Year 6 and 0.3 Year 7-9 Mathematics.
Class sizes are very small, and support will be provided, especially to early-career teachers.

The Teacher will:

Be experienced in teaching Middle Years curriculum (6-9) in preferably Math or one or more of the above curriculum areas.

The successful applicant will possess:

• An understanding and commitment to the ethos (values) of Catholic schools. 
• Apply curriculum knowledge and pedagogies to facilitate learning using the ACARA framework and Middle Schooling philosophies.
• Prepare and submit assessment plans according to the ACARA guidelines.
• Address individual student learning needs, integrated curriculum and personalised learning specific to Middle Schooling.
• Understanding of explicit instruction, trauma-sensitive practices and restorative practices.
• Understanding and applying well-being strategies/programs to support students and families.
• Support the ongoing development and maintenance of our learning management and reporting system (SEQTA).
• Be familiar with emerging technologies and have a strong interest in their incorporation into the curriculum.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and develop innovative programs within a school context.
• Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated practical skills in working in partnership and in a team.
