Role description
About the role
This important role in our school begins on Monday July 13 with an initial 18 months contract until the end of 2027. Upon completion of this contract there is a strong possibility of an ongoing contact providing the suitabiity of the employee. The successful applicant reports to the Office Manager and the Principal.
The role is 5 days per week from 7am – 2pm each day with a half an hour break.
The salary for this role is approximately $51, 600 depending on experience.
1. Purpose of the Role
The Grounds and Maintenance employee is responsible for the upkeep, safety and presentation of the school’s buildings, grounds and facilities. This role supports the daily operations of the school by maintaining a clean, functional and attractive environment for students, staff, families, and visitors, in accordance with school policies, MACS requirements and occupational health and safety standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain lawns, gardens, trees and landscaped areas, including mowing, edging, pruning and watering
- Ensure playgrounds, sporting areas, pathways and car parks are clean, safe and serviceable
- Collect and dispose of green waste appropriately
- Undertake leaf removal and preparation of outdoor areas for school events
- Perform basic pest and weed control in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines
Building Maintenance
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs including carpentry, painting, plumbing and basic electrical tasks within competency
