Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School, Thursday Island

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School is located in the beautiful Torres Straits with two campuses on Thursday Island and Hammond Island.  Our Thursday Island Campus caters for Prep to Year 6, while our Hammond Island campus is for Prep to Year 3 with older students catching a daily ferry to the TI campus. We celebrate our remote location and Indigenous culture. The faith, life and values of the people of the Torres Strait are acknowledged through our learning environment.

About the Role

The Groundsperson/Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the upkeep of the school grounds at both the Thursday Island and Hammond Island campuses. There is a requirement for some bus driving for the purpose of morning bus pickup and school excursions.

Work Requirements

• Hold a Working with Children Blue Card
• Current Drivers Licence and LR Licence (Bus Driving) - or willingness to achieve bus license
• Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
