About St Monica's Primary School
St Monica’s is an inclusive learning community dedicated to supporting students and staff alike. Serving the Canberra suburbs of Evatt, Melba, Spence, McKellar, and surrounding areas, St Monica’s places students at the heart of all we do. Our professional and dedicated team is committed to nurturing the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth of every student, supported by a collaborative work environment for staff. Teachers are encouraged to connect with school leadership to explore how our community can support their professional journey and contribute to a shared vision for student success and holistic development.
About the Role
The Student Welfare Officer supports the wellbeing of students by providing pastoral care and implementing strategies that promote a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment. Working closely with students, staff and families, the role focuses on fostering positive relationships, addressing individual student needs and supporting the wellbeing of the broader school community. As part of their responsibilities, Student Welfare Officers are required to complete a three-hour online Professional Learning Package during work hours, aimed at preventing and responding to cyberbullying.
