Role description
North Metropolitan Regional Education Office are seeking to fill 2 positions and establish a pool of Participation Coordinator for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of June 2028. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Regional Education Offices play a critical role in supporting schools across metropolitan and rural areas by promoting system-wide initiatives, providing guidance, and ensuring quality assurance. They are responsible for maintaining consistency in the implementation of policies and procedures, as well as ensuring all schools comply with relevant legislation. Through this support, schools are enabled to deliver high-quality education, fostering student development and maximising opportunities for all learners to achieve positive educational outcomes aligned with their individual capabilities.
Within this context, Participation Coordinators form an integral part of regional support services, delivering targeted outreach and case brokerage to young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. They work collaboratively with schools, TAFE and private training providers, as well as government and non-government agencies and employers, to facilitate suitable pathway options and placements. The role involves regular travel to engage directly with students, families, and service providers, ensuring personalised support and improving the likelihood of successful engagement and transition outcomes.
