Selection Criteria
- Demonstrate knowledge of the impact of intellectual and physical disabilities for students aged between 5 and 18 years of age.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sensory processing theory and practice in paediatric interventions and in school settings
- Demonstrate skills in the trial and prescription of adaptive equipment to maintain safety, to increase function and independence
- Demonstrate skills in working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people
- Demonstrated skills in leading an Allied Health team
Role
As the Lead Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with complex physical, behavioural, and developmental needs. You will provide clinical leadership, oversee therapy programs, and collaborate closely with teaching staff, families, and allied health professionals to enhance student participation and wellbeing.
Will usually be a member of the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
