Position: Classroom Teacher 
Start date: Term 2, 2026 (20th April 2026) or as negotiated with the successful applicant. 
Employment Status: Full-Time Contract
Salary:$86,600 - $147,048 (pending experience - includes Highly Accomplished (HAT) and Lead Teacher (LT) salary scale)

What we are looking for:

Applications are invited from qualified and enthusiastic educators for the position of Classroom Teacher at St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, Gladstone. This is a full-time contract position commencing Term 2, 2026 (20th April 2026) until 17th January 2027.

The successful applicant requires excellent people skills, a capacity to work as a part of a team, and the willingness to support students, staff and parents of the school.

• Relevant tertiary qualification (or eligible to graduate)
• Evidence of successfully passing the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students
• Appropriate qualities, knowledge and skills to provide a relevant and holistic education
• Eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• A desire to serve the communities located within the diocese of Rockhampton
