Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the Northern Territory Government to drive quality training ensuring a skilled, capable and productive workforce that drives a diverse and vibrant Territory economy.

Context statementThe Department of Education and Training (the department) is a system that delivers, supports, and regulates early childhood, school, education and training services. Skills NT provides resources to build a skilled and capable workforce through vocational education and training (VET) that meets the needs of Territorians, industry and community – critical to rebuilding the economy. As the state training authority, we provide stewardship for the national VET framework, system, and apprenticeships in the NT. We partner with industry, community groups, and registered training organisations to ensure Territorians have access to quality VET training that leads to jobs and fulfills workforce demand.
