Role description
The Opportunity
Christ the King School is a Catholic co-educational primary school committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all members of our community. We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) Coordinator to support the effective management and continuous improvement of Work Health & Safety (WHS) and Return to Work (RTW) practices across the school.
The WHS Coordinator will be responsible for providing a professional and responsive WHS service within Christ the King school, working under the direction of the Principal (or delegate). The role supports the planning, coordination and administration of WHS and RTW functions, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) policies and procedures.
This position is a permanent part-time role, working 1 day per week (8:00am – 4:00pm) across 40 weeks of the school year.
Key responsibilities include
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong capacity to:
- Coordinate and administer Work Health & Safety (WHS) and Return to Work (RTW) processes in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Maintaining WHS systems, including accurate record keeping, registers and monitoring of training compliance
- Deliver WHS inductions and coordinate mandatory training, supporting staff capability and compliance requirements
- Undertake risk assessments, audits and workplace inspections, and support the investigation of incidents, hazards and near misses
