Role description
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated learning support officer. The successful applicant will be able to work with students to assist the classroom teacher to ensure every student shines and flourishes.
- The successful applicant will:
- demonstrate a passion for working with children
- demonstrate a capacity to work as an LSO supporting teaching staff, working collaboratively with classroom teachers to implement learning tasks to meet the needs of children with a range of learning difficulties
- demonstrate a willingness and capacity to work with students with learning and/or social-emotional challenges, providing support to individuals or small groups being resourceful and using own initiative if required
- possess a high level of patience and emotional maturity in order to manage students with learning or behavioural challenges
- demonstrate an understanding of the work of Catholic schools and a willingness to actively contribute to a range of school activities
- possess a deep understanding of positive behaviour management strategies and have experience in working with students with high behavioural needs
- demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Child Safe Catholic schools policy
