About Matrix Education

Role description

Matrix Education is now hiring casual Secondary HSC English Teachers to join the team at our Strathfield and Hurstville campuses.

Our classes run after school on weekdays and on weekends and would be ideal for a current school teacher who is looking to for extra casual working hours or is considering stepping away from schools and would like to try teaching in a new environment! Sunday availability is a bonus for this role. 

You will have the opportunity work with a fun and talented team in a beautifully resourced campus with fantastic classroom resources.

Minimal lesson preparation is required as lessons and resources are prepared for you.

 

What you’ll do…

  • Teaching regular weekly classes throughout the academic term,
  • Ongoing monitoring of student’s academic progress through marking weekly essay submissions,
  • Teaching opportunities available during the NSW school holidays,
  • Flagging of struggling students to academic team leaders for additional academic mentoring.

 

What you’ll need…

  • Possess a genuine passion for teaching,
  • Previous experience teaching secondary English in a classroom setting,
  • Have extensive knowledge of the current NESA curriculum in stage 4, 5 and/or 6 English,
  • Have completed their degree in Education, Arts, Philosophy or a related discipline,
  • Postgraduate studies in the above listed disciplines will be highly regarded.
