Role description

The Team

Wellbeing means that children and students feel loved and safe, they are healthy, they have access to material basics, they are learning and participating, and they have a positive sense of culture and identity. Learners with higher levels of wellbeing are eager to learn and better able to participate, which can lead to higher rates of engagement and attendance and improved overall performance. A strong sense of wellbeing enables learners to explore, experiment and engage actively in their learning environment with the confidence to take advantage of new opportunities.

About the Role

Work in schools as a member of a multi-disciplinary Learning Service Support Team to provide a social work service which supports students and families. In particular provide support within the assigned network of schools in relation to child well-being and support for children in relation to issues of child protection. Contribute to capacity building of school communities to improve access, participation and achievement of students.
Provide high level advice to the Department about specific school social work duties and undertake leadership in the form of supervision or leading best practice within the Social Work team or in the school context as required, as directed by the senior and/or Supervisor.
