Role description
St Margaret Mary’s School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Curriculum Education Support Officer (ESO) to provide classroom and behaviour support across all year levels.
Key Responsibilities
As an Education Support Officer, you will work alongside teachers to support student learning, engagement, and wellbeing.
- Contribute positively to the school community and uphold the ethos and values of a Catholic school.
- Support student learning, behaviour and additional needs, including those with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL).
- Carry out a wide variety of tasks associated with classroom learning experiences including small group and 1:1 intervention.
- Use your knowledge and initiative to suggest adjustments and strategies that support individual learning needs, in consultation with the classroom teacher.
About You
- A Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role. Prior experience working in an education environment is highly desirable.
- Experience and confidence in working with children, particularly those with additional needs (highly desirable).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
Additional requirements:
- Current Working with Children Check and Catholic Education SA Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) certificate (or willingness to obtain).
