Role description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor to lead and manage the delivery of high‑quality grounds and maintenance services within our school environment.

This senior Education Support Officer (Grade 5) role is suited to a large or multi‑campus school and requires a high level of autonomy, technical expertise and leadership capability. Reporting to the Principal (or delegate), the role plays a key part in ensuring school facilities, buildings and grounds are safe, functional and well maintained, supporting positive learning and working environments for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the school’s grounds and maintenance function, including planning, staffing, equipment, budgets and work outputs
  • Develop, implement and monitor annual maintenance and works programs addressing current and future needs
  • Supervise and support grounds and maintenance staff to ensure effective service delivery across lawns, landscaping, irrigation systems, play areas, sporting facilities, fencing, paths, roadways and car parks
  • Coordinate contractors and trades, including obtaining quotes, administering contracts and ensuring compliance with legislative, WHS and budget requirements
  • Oversee maintenance of tools and equipment, including inventory management and annual stocktakes
  • Prepare reports, proposals and recommendations for school leadership and external stakeholders
