Role description
The Opportunity
The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Officer is responsible for providing specialist support and advice to ensure the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and injury management systems, processes, and compliance for the Catholic Education Office (CEO) – the Corporate Office for Catholic Education South Australia. The position is also responsible for oversight of the online compliance training system for employees across more than 90 of our schools.
This is a 0.5 FTE part-time, permanent role with some flexibility to choose your span of hours and days of work.
Your Responsibilities:
- Delivering on site Induction of employees & contractors
- Organisational Administrator for Salt online learning platform
- Conducting Safety Inspections and Risk Assessments
- Investigation of hazards, incidents, injuries and near misses
- Monitoring, reporting and evaluation of WHS performance
- Return to Work Coordinator for the Catholic Education Office site
- Providing support to the site's Work Health and Safety Committee
About You:
We are looking for a degree qualified (or relevant experience) WHS professional who is passionate about promoting and providing a safe working environment. In addition to a working knowledge of WHS legislation, preferably in a self-insured environment, you will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Outstanding administrative capabilities will also be essential in this role.
