Position Details

Education Assistant (Junior School)


The Education Assistant’s primary role is to support students to access the curriculum in mainstream classes at Mother Teresa Catholic College.

In assisting teachers in delivering planned education programs, Education Assistants contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Selection Criteria

 • Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
 • Demonstrated ability to assist teachers in implementing education programs.
 • Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise with students, teachers, parents and support staff on the provision of educational programs.
 • Ability and willingness to form and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicating with students, staff and visitors in a positive and professional manner.
 • Be an active team member, promoting and contributing to staff collegiality and unity.
 • Ability to use initiative and work independently, as well as high level of collaboration skills for a team environment.
 • Demonstrate discretion when dealing with confidential and/or sensitive issues. 
 • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team.
 • Excellent organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective educational programs to students. 
 • Ability to work within and foster an inclusive school environment, following the College’s inclusive philosophy.
