Role description
About the role
Generally, the LSO is allocated to one or more year levels to support individuals and groups of students with specific learning needs. The LSO will be directed by the classroom teacher as to their tasks and will be required to maintain collection of evidence.
Relevant past or present experience in supporting students with intellectual disabilities or ASD will be considered as an advantage.
St. Therese’s School takes Child Safety very seriously and therefore expects all who enter the school to commit to and comply with the school's Child Safety policy.
This position is for the 2026 school year.
The successful applicant will:
Display an understanding of child safe behaviour
Demonstrate commitment to Catholic Education and the Catholic Ethos of the school
Display effective communication and organisational skills
Use initiative within the learning environment to ensure optimal student support
Demonstrate the ability to work with all members in our school community
Be open to receiving and acting on feedback
Demonstrate a positive and proactive manner.
Special Requirements
The successful applicant will have:
A strong commitment to the Catholic ethos
A certificate in education support, or equivalent (desirable)
A current Working With Children's Check
A current National Criminal Record Check.
