Role description
We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Kenwick School is an independent public school (IPS) that teaches students aged 4 years to 19 years, with wide ranging special educational needs. These include severe to profound intellectual disabilities, sensory and physical impairments, as well as other complex medical and behavioural conditions.

The Role
To be a suitable applicant you will ideally:
- have qualifications or experience in Education Support
- be committed to excellence in developing, implementing and monitoring innovative classroom practices
- positively lead a team of Education Assistants within the classroom
- have a responsive, proactive management approach to complex and challenging behaviours (including, as appropriate, physical restraint and escorts).
- have effective classroom management skills to enhance student wellbeing
- be flexible, have strong interpersonal and communication skills,
- purposefully engage in professional learning
- possess high-level collaborative team planning skills.
Experience is desirable in the following areas:
- Developing individualised positive behaviour support plans
- Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), independent living, work experience and life skills programs, community access, horticult…
