Role description


We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Swan View Senior High School (SHS) is located in the foothills of Perth close to John Forrest National Park. It was opened in 1977 on an 11.6 hectare site. The school draws students from areas of the Swan Valley, Swan View, Stratton, Middle Swan, Bellevue, Koongamia, Midvale and attracts a number of students from the Hills suburbs of Greenmount, Glen Forrest, and Helena Valley. This provides the school with a diverse and capable student population with a powerful sense of community. The school is inclusive with strong links to local Aboriginal community and culture.

Swan View SHS caters for students with mild to moderate disabilities through the Education Support Centre as well as within the mainstream campus.

The Role

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will, under teacher direction, assist in the delivery of education programs and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment, Education Assistants support teachers in implementing planned learning programs that assist students to reach their full potential through the development of academic, social, emotional and physical skills, including the use of computers and digital technologies.
