The primary accountabilities of the Vocational Education and training Officer include:
• Assess participants vocational training needs and provides advice regarding vocational training and employment opportunities both within custody and in the community.
• Utilise flexible, blended and distributed learning techniques, options and products to meet the needs of the participants.
• Coordinate and deliver vocational programs in relation to the delivery of qualifications from nationally recognised training packages and accredited courses.
• Assess student performance against competency standards and recommend and/or provide additional training, where necessary, for students to gain competency.
• Maintain records of course participation including storage (physical and electronic), retrieval and archiving.
• Administer a quality control system for maintaining feedback with management, providers and participants.
