Teaching ServiceWarialda High School is a Year 7 to 12 comprehensive High School of 200 students, of which 22% are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. A large proportion of students come from rural properties, and family incomes fluctuate with farming conditions. We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school that maintains strong HSC & NAPLAN results with school-wide reading, writing and numeracy approaches forever focused on improving student learning in the classroom. The majority of students possess a strong work ethic, a sense of community and inclusivity, and highly value education and extracurricular sports. Currently, a third to half of all senior students are engaged in a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship, with a third continuing further Tertiary studies. Often, our students are sought out for employment across NSW and interstate.
