Rivendell School is a joint NSW Ministry of Health and Department of Education facility located within the Thomas Walker Estate at Concord West, serving 65 students including four First Nations students. The school provides educational programs for students admitted to mental health units, with two on-site programs (Paterson for Stages 4-5 and Sulman for Stage 6) and two learning centres at off-site psychiatric facilities. Teaching ServiceRivendell School is a NSW Department of Education School for Specific Purposes supporting students with complex mental health needs through personalised, evidence-informed educational programs developed in partnership with health professionals, families and schools. The school has a maximum of 107 enrolments across its Concord West and Campbeltown education programs.
The Assistant Principal, Learning and Support is based at Rivendell School and works directly with the Strathfield Network of schools to strengthen inclusive practice and improve outcomes for students with additional learning and support needs. The role provides leadership in personalised learning and support, attendance, behaviour support, transition planning, collaborative case management and the implementation of evidence-based adjustments and interventions.
