Role description

Established in 1897, Sacred Heart College is a co-educational Catholic college in the Marist tradition, nurturing both day and boarding students’ holistic needs from Years 7 to 12, across two campuses.

Student Counsellor (Cross Campus)

  • Champagnat Campus, Mitchell Park (Years 7-9) and Marcellin Campus, Somerton Park (Years 10-12)
  • Replacement contract commencing in Term 2 2026 until 2 July 2027
  • Where the appointee is a teacher: time release of 1.0FTE (i.e., there is no teaching load attached to this position)
  • Where the appointee is not a qualified and registered teacher: ESO Grade 6, 37.5 hours per week, 48 weeks per year

The Student Counsellor is to provide confidential counselling services to members of the school community as required. The Student Counsellor will work with students, their families or carers and staff to provide effective mental health initiatives with a focus on enhancing the psychological well-being of their students and helping them reach their full potential.

The successful applicant must also complete our child-safe screening processes, including holding a Working with Children Clearance.
