About the role
Sustainable Racing Team (SRT) Coordinator
Part Time (0.7 FTE)
Damascus College is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on, and technically driven SRT Coordinator to lead our innovative Sustainable Racing Team in a hybrid role that combines practical onsite work with flexible working arrangements.
SRT is an exciting extra-curricular program where students in Years 7–12 design, build and race human-powered vehicles and compete in major events across Victoria and South Australia, including the iconic Maryborough Energy Breakthrough.
With over 35 active students and a strong volunteer network, the program continues to grow and evolve, offering an exciting opportunity for the right person to make a lasting impact.
As SRT Coordinator, you will work closely with a passionate group of students, volunteers, and staff to lead and manage all aspects of the program, including:
- Supporting students in the design, construction and maintenance of vehicles
- Coordinating workshops, training sessions and race events
- Managing communication with students, families, volunteers and event organisers
- Developing the annual SRT calendar and coordinating event participation
- Overseeing workshop safety, risk management and compliance
- Supervising physical training and preparation for race events
- Supporting fundraising, community engagement and school events
- Maintaining the workshop, tools, and equipment
