Aboriginal Education Officer | St Raphael’s Catholic School, Cowra

12-Month Contract | Part-time (36 hours per fortnight) 

Commencing ASAP by negotiation

Hourly rate ranging from $40.64 - $47.02 depending on qualifications and experience

St Raphael's Catholic School Cowra, is seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Education Officer (AEO) to join the school community. The Aboriginal Education Officer acts as a key connection between Indigenous students, their families, the school, and the wider community. This role provides cultural, educational, and pastoral support to ensure every Indigenous student is given the opportunity to thrive academically and personally. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Building strong connections with First Nations families and welcoming new families into the school community. 
  • Supporting the development and implementation of Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs). 
  • Promoting and celebrating Aboriginal culture across the whole school. 
  • Assisting with literacy and numeracy support for Aboriginal students, both in class and in small group/individual settings. 
  • Encouraging regular attendance, supporting transitions, and exploring career pathways with students.
