Role description
We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants - Specialised Learning Program - Autism for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
At Samson Primary School (PS) our vision is to work together in unity to create a respectful, safe and inclusive learning environment. Within this community we aim to help all students to reach their highest potential to become self-aware and curious learners. Our school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We have an ethos of working together, caring for others, developing positive community involvement, taking pride in our achievements and maximising the educational opportunities for all children.
At Samson PS we have a Specialist Learning Program (SLP) for children with autism. Students within this program spend time within mainstream classes daily. The program targets students who do not have an intellectual disability with a focus on year level academic engagement and achievement, organisational skills, social cognition development, positive peer relationships and emotional self-regulation.

The Role
Evidence Based Practices for autistic students are used within the SLP. A knowledge of Neuro Affirming practices is an advantage as well as data collection is a key component of the SLP. Staff within the Program are committed to ongoing specialise…
