The Role
Canteen Attendant responsibilities include assisting in meal preparation, serving food, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. This includes tasks such as cleaning canteen areas, including pantries, freezers, cool rooms, and storerooms, as well as ensuring that equipment and utensils are cleaned to appropriate standards. Additionally, they may undertake cash register operations and assist with canteen-related duties as required, ensuring smooth daily operations.
The role may involve participating in meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices in catering, health, safety, and hygiene. They play a crucial part in food and stock control, including ordering and stock rotation, to ensure the canteen operates efficiently and sustainably
